Layla planned her big day out "all by herself" as she tells us. She woke up to her room decorated with Ariel decorations. Then, it was a big birthday breakfast and opening presents. Then, we headed out for the day at one of our favorite places, the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler. We had dinner that evening at her favorite restaurant, CHICK-FIL-A. It was a great day.
Here are Layla and Noah in there Mickey and Mini Mouse costumes. We had our churches Trunk or treat last Saturday night so they get to wear their costumes more than once.
Noah wouldn't wear the gloves at all, Layla did for 5 minutes. And here's a cute one of the girls!

OK this is us sitting in the dark in a hotel room in Tyler TX waiting for Layla to fall asleep so that we can turn on the tv. We will be up here until Aug 8th visiting Shannon's parents so stay tuned for more pics soon.
Today we took the kids to our state capitol. For them the coolest part was standing in the center and screaming.....WOW does it ECHO!!! Layla did stand in the very center and look up at the star. Today's visit to the state capitol was symobolic for our family I believe after all we have been through legally to become a family. We promise to continue as a family to be a voice for children and other families in our legal system as God calls us to!
We visited the Austin Zoo on Monday. It is a small non-profit zoo that takes in rescue animals only. You can read more about their rescue efforts at www.austinzoo.org Noah made good friends with a goat and Layla loved the peacock. When we were leaving Layla told us we should get a chicken, a goat, a snake, and a tiger for our house.
